WHY WE THINK THIS IS IMPORTANT FOR NEW PARENTS
• We are far removed from village life and how we are meant to raise families. We need to redefine the meaning of village in the modern urban context.
• We are not meant to do this on our own.
• We want to provide a welcoming and inclusive community space that provides holistic care to our community members.
• Building compassionate and resilient communities, one family at a time.
• Aimed to prepare new parents for life after birth, we want you to thrive, not just survive.
• What we do in the first 40 days, sets us up for the next 40 years (concepts in traditional Indian and Chinese culture). This is about longevity and living well into older age.
• Introducing people to the concepts of Matrescence and Patrescence, that life changes after birth and we can’t lead our lives in the same way, but that doesn’t need to be seen in a negative light with a focus on sacrifice and what you can no longer do. Rather an opportunity to embrace your new being, new things to offer the world, and an opportunity to make an impact within your community through building kind and resilient citizens of the future.
