A Morning Ritual of Meditation.

The first hour of the day is the most important, it is where you are consciously creating how your day is going to pan out.  It is the easiest time to focus after being in the delta brainwave state.  Your attention here allows you to go inward when there is no rush or busy to-do lists are filling your headspace.   It’s time to create a breathing ritual to settle into your day ahead.

  1. Moving into your breath, you can begin by bringing a light, slow breath into your body.

  2.  Feel the gentle coolness of the air as it moves through your nose, into the back of your throat all the way to your sternum.

  3. Down into your belly, the rise and fall of your belly, deep down into your pelvic cavity.  To where it feels comfortable for you.

  4. A gentle hold, pause.

  5. Slowly moving it back out through your body, out through your nose.

  6. Repeat this for 10 light, slow, breaths.

To meet your daily goals of increasing breath awareness into your everyday life, you can break them down into little pockets of time.  There is always room to move, change or add to your routine, as we know change is the only constant in life.

Selecting time throughout your day, to focus on your breathing, slowing the mind and body.  Sitting on the toilet, on the bus, at your desk.

You can teach someone else this simple breathing technique and do it together, creating change.
