Nourishing Liver Detox Smoothie
This Liver Detox smoothie is one of Melinda’s go-to Liver-supporting beverages.
It is great when you want to feel light and cleanse, reducing the excess fluids or weight, you may have gained over the colder months. We can be like bears and hibernate, with a lazy lifestyle. Now is the time to shed those extra kilos, or nourish your liver and flow into the warmer months feeling happy and healthy.
Melinda believes in supporting your body’s natural detoxification processes with wholesome, nutrient-rich foods. This liver-loving smoothie combines ingredients known for their detoxifying properties and liver support, based on both traditional wisdom and modern nutritional science.
Ingredients:
• 1 medium beetroot, peeled and chopped
• 1 green apple, cored and chopped
• 1 cup fresh spinach leaves
• 1/2 lemon, juiced
• 1-inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled
• 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
• 1 tablespoon chia seeds
• 1 cup coconut water
• 1/2 cup ice (optional)
Instructions:
Wash all produce thoroughly.
Add all ingredients to a high-speed blender.
Blend until smooth and creamy, about 1-2 minutes.
Pour into a glass and enjoy immediately.
