Bec has been practising yoga for more than 20 years, with particular emphasis on styles that incorporate the healing benefits of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

In 2010, Bec completed her first formal yoga teaching certification and has continued to expand on this by studying both in Australia and abroad. Bec holds qualifications in meridian yoga, yin yoga, corrective yoga for injury and illness, meditation, children’s yoga, women’s health yoga, and pre & post-natal yoga.

Bec is also trained in shiatsu, acupressure bodywork and moxibustion which influences her teaching style. Bec is a member of Yoga Alliance, International Institute for Complementary Therapists, and is a senior registered teacher with Yoga Australia. Bec looks forward to helping people develop their practice to achieve better health and a better quality of life.

About Bec

Bec has been practising yoga for more than 20 years with a particular focus on Meridian yoga. Seeing the positive effects this particular style had on her and those around her inspired Bec to want to share these benefits with others. In 2010, Bec completed her first formal yoga teaching certification in a form of Japanese yoga adopting the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine to balance energy within the meridian system.

Shortly afterwards, in 2011 she studied Yin Yoga with Paul Grilley in Singapore. This greatly complemented her yang yoga practice and expand her knowledge of anatomy, meridians and the chakra system. When back in Australia, Bec continued to teach and eventually became a mother to her first daughter, Ava. To further expand on her skills she went on to study Shiatsu bodywork for two years with Andzej Gospodarczyk of Ryoho Wellness. Bec then specialised in Women’s Health Yoga, and Yoga for specific conditions. Studying pre and post-natal yoga with Lisa Masters of The Yoga House, and attending Women Health yoga with Lisa Foster of Ryoho Wellness. In addition to this Bec studied corrective meridian yoga for injury and illness with Andzej Gospodarczyk of Ryoho Wellness.

Soon after this, Bec gave birth to her second daughter, Chloe. In 2018 Bec gained her Children's Yoga certification from Zenergy Yoga and uses these skills when families come along to the studio. In 2020 & 2021 Bec completed her Level 1 & 2 Acupressure certification with John Kirkwood of The Acupressure Centre. Bec implements these teachings into her bodywork treatments. Bec has just completed Yin Yoga and Meditation training with Tiffany Cruikshank & Dr. Rashmi Bismark of Yoga Medicine and will undertake Level 3 Acupressure training later in the year.

Bec continues to grow under the tutelage of her teachers and mentors and looks forward to using her therapeutic tools to help people on the road to better health, and a better quality of life.

Private Yoga

Private Yoga

  • Private classes are great for beginners, or for experienced yogis who are after some one-on-one guidance to get them to the next level.

    You can also bring a friend to share the cost. The pricing is fixed up to a maximum of 2 people.

    These sessions are great if you have a niggling issue that you'd like to get on top of or a particular yoga-related goal you would like to achieve.

    Private sessions consist of:

    A discussion/breakdown of personal goals.

    A series of corrective exercises to help you achieve these goals.

    And a take-home program tailored to you to keep you moving forward.

    Private lessons can be booked as a one-off, as a regular time slot, or as a check-in every few months to really improve your practice and achieve your goals.

Corporate Group Yoga & Meditation

  • Gather your friendship group or corporate team and book a private yoga session ( 1 Hr ) or Combined Yoga and Meditation Workshop ( 1.5 hrs ) with Bec. Available for all levels.

    If anyone can't attend in person they can join via the Zoom app which can be downloaded from your App Store. Before the class, you will be sent a meeting invite and all you will need to do is click the link and you are away!

  • This is a 1-hour of Yin Yoga, followed by 45 minutes of Acupuncture Led by Bec Zandstra, our yoga teacher & Melinda Webb Acupuncturist. Yin yoga is a slow practice that creates greater awareness of the breath and body. Acupuncturist Mel Webb administers individual acupuncture treatments while you are comfortably resting in savasana with a bolster and blanket.

    Bring a yoga mat if you have one, or we have a mat for you.

  • Shiatsu is a form of bodywork that focuses on the meridian system of Traditional Chinese Medicine to improve overall health. We sensitively apply pressure (using hands/elbows/knees) to specific areas of the client’s body to help heal common ailments and conditions, and relieve energetic blockages in the body. Acupressure works along these same meridian lines but uses specific points to treat ailments. These treatments promote energy flow and correct imbalances. It is deeply relaxing and helps relieve stress, pain and illness, and contributes to overall well-being.
