Do You Have Adrenal Fatigue Syndrome?

Here are the common symptoms. Do you have several of these?

  • Day to day life is stressful and feels overwhelming

  • You have anxiety or difficulties concentrating

  • You wake not feeling refreshed and ready to go

  • You find it hard to have the energy to exercise, or your recovery is difficult

  • Your sleep is irregular; you can't get to sleep or can't stay asleep

  • You cannot lose the weight that has crept on

  • You can feel lightheaded when sitting or standing

  • Your libido is low

  • You have PMS, or your menstrual cycle is irregular

  • You have perimenopause symptoms

  • Blood pressure is low, or you have blood sugar changes

Many factors contribute to adrenal fatigue; the main one is stress.  Stress produces cortisol, the hormone that is secreted by the adrenals.  The brain and adrenals communicate via the Hypothalamic Pituitary Adrenal axis (HPA); this system signals the adrenals to secrete cortisol.   With the body releasing cortisol, it eventually becomes resistant and the levels of cortisol drop. When they become low, you will have symptoms of adrenal fatigue, known as “Adrenal Fatigue Syndrome.”

There are many ways you can prevent and care for your adrenals.  Regular adrenal acupuncture treatment reduces and aids with preventing changes throughout the body.  A total reset!  A wonderful Japanese acupuncture treatment restores the adrenals, leaving you feeling like a new person!  You can combine the Chinese medicine supplements and minerals we offer at Beattie Street Health to help make a greater change.

Looking after your body through diet is essential when feeling anxious or stressed.  Getting proper nutrition can help balance your blood sugar and mood. Move away from the sugar you can crave when you are tired, and your adrenals are low. Having someone guide you on the right supplements and lifestyle changes can affect your feelings. Melinda can work with you on diet and lifestyle changes.

We know stress will be part of our lives, so having a way that can help, like breathwork and acupuncture as a combination, is a simple solution you can put in place, which dramatically impacts slowing down your adrenals. Melinda works with you during an acupuncture treatment by combining breathwork.

Melinda Webb, Dr Chinese Medicine and Buteyko Breathwork Instructor works in reproductive and sexual health using a combination of Acupuncture, herbal medicine and breathwork to change how you feel, creating better health and wellbeing for her clients.

Melinda practices in the clinic Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.
