5 ways to balance your work life routine
Learning to find balance, feeling centred, motivated, having energy and the ability to switch off when it is required to attend to family life, do you have that balance?
There are so many challenges in today’s work-life balance, it is like throwing all the balls up in the air and hoping that they fall at a relaxed pace. Our lifestyles can feel up in the air at the moment with the current environment shaping our day to day lives. So I thought I would share 5 simple ways to find balance in your work-life routine.
Switch off
The ability to switch off from work and be present during a break or at the end of your day can be challenging. Remembering that “You” time is essential for balance. Have breaks throughout your day, finish at a reasonable time of the day and switching your phone off or on silent gives you the ability to focus on you, your family, friends and hobbies.
Find a compassionate voice
It is always good to acknowledge what is happening in life, one of the things to be accountable for is being kind to yourself. Sometimes we can be harsh and have big expectations on what and where we think we should be. Finding a kind honest response to what is happening, speak to yourself as you would to a friend.
See change as an opportunity
The last few months have been a time of learning how to be in this world. There are times of discomfort as we have no control over what is happening to our external environment. It is forever shifting course. Some see change as an ending which can make it harder to respond to. Seeing change as an opportunity is part of our natural life cycle. We have the innate ability to create ourselves over and over. It is time to develop new skills, discover our inner wisdom and develop new tools to grow to our full potential.
Grounding for self awareness
Change clears the ground for new growth to occur. Be patient, have faith and courage at this time. Spend time with your feet on the ground, in the sun, the vitamin D from the sun nourishes us emotionally and physically, building our immune system. Change can be unsettling, cause dis-ease within the body, ground by bringing in self-awareness, its a wonderful preventative medicine.
Reach globally for connection
We are a global family and are connected, technology reminds us every day that we are connected. Finding a new place of work now means no office, we can work anywhere. And connecting with others on the other side of the globe is more important than ever now we cannot travel afar. Reaching out to family, friends and colleagues is one way to stay in touch, however, be mindful of your ‘You’ time and have a balance if you are in a time zone that is different from your normal day to day work-life routine.
Applying any of these 5 suggestions can create a balance between work and ‘You’ time, it is beneficial for all.
